Arteta Wants Kenan Yildiz at Arsenal

Arsenal have reportedly identified Juventus star Kenan Yildiz as a major transfer target ahead of the summer window, with manager Mikel Arteta said to be a strong admirer of the versatile attacker.

According to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the North London club are preparing an ambitious move for the Turkish international, who has emerged as one of Europe’s brightest young talents since breaking into Juventus’ first team.

Yildiz announced himself on the senior stage during the 2023/24 season and quickly became a key figure for the Italian giants. After making several appearances from the bench, he marked his first start with a goal in Juventus’ 2-1 victory over Frosinone in December 2023. Since then, his influence has continued to grow despite the club’s inconsistent performances and managerial changes.

The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign, registering 17 goal contributions in Serie A and 21 across all competitions. His performances earned him a place in Sofascore’s Serie A Team of the Season, underlining his growing reputation as one of the league’s standout performers.

One of Yildiz’s biggest strengths is his versatility. Comfortable on either wing, in attacking midfield, or as a supporting forward, he offers the tactical flexibility that Arteta values highly in his attacking players.

Tavolieri reports that Arsenal view Yildiz as a priority target and are willing to spend as much as £86 million to secure his signature. While negotiations are not yet at an advanced stage, the Gunners remain interested despite previous reports suggesting Juventus were reluctant to entertain offers.

Former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi recently praised the youngster’s immense potential, describing him as a future Ballon d’Or contender.

“A super Yildiz. The Turk is a phenomenon and will be a Ballon d’Or winner in the future. He’s 20, but he plays like a 30-year-old with 100 Champions League appearances,” Rossi said.

If Arsenal can reach an agreement with Juventus, Yildiz could become a cornerstone of Arteta’s long-term project. His arrival would potentially strengthen the club’s attacking options and could see him form an exciting partnership alongside Bukayo Saka and other attacking reinforcements next season.

With his technical quality, work rate, and ability to operate across multiple positions, Yildiz appears to fit perfectly into Arsenal’s evolving system as they continue their pursuit of major honours.
