Morgan Rogers Breaks Silence as Arsenal Transfer Rumours Intensify

Morgan Rogers has emerged as one of the hottest properties in European football ahead of the summer transfer window, with Arsenal and Bayern Munich leading the race for the Aston Villa star, according to FootballTransfers.

The 23-year-old England international enjoyed a standout campaign last season, contributing 25 goals and assists in 55 appearances across all competitions and playing a key role in Aston Villa’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

FootballTransfers reports that representatives of Rogers have engaged in extensive discussions with only two clubs so far—Arsenal and Bayern Munich—despite widespread interest from several top European sides. While a number of clubs have expressed their admiration for the attacking midfielder, no other suitor has progressed beyond registering interest.

Arsenal’s pursuit of Rogers has intensified in recent months as manager Mikel Arteta seeks to strengthen his attacking options. The North London club had previously explored a move for former Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon before his transfer to Barcelona, and attention has now shifted firmly toward the Aston Villa playmaker.

The Gunners have reportedly conducted significant groundwork on a potential deal, with sporting director Andrea Berta believed to be a strong admirer of Rogers’ talents. However, negotiations could prove complicated due to Aston Villa’s valuation of the player.

Villa are understood to value Rogers at approximately €115 million (£100 million), a figure that sources suggest is considerably higher than Arsenal’s current assessment of his market value.

German giants Bayern Munich remain firmly in the picture and are closely monitoring developments surrounding Rogers’ future. According to FootballTransfers, Bayern are one of only two clubs the England international would seriously consider joining this summer.

If neither Arsenal nor Bayern succeed in securing his signature, Rogers is expected to remain at Aston Villa for at least another season rather than pursue a move elsewhere.

Speaking recently on The Rest Is Football while on international duty ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Rogers addressed the growing transfer speculation surrounding his future. He admitted that such rumours were initially distracting but said experience has helped him deal with the constant attention.

“The first time it happened, it was a distraction,” Rogers said. “But as you get older and gain more experience, you realise that most of it is just noise. You hear it, of course, but you’ve got to use it positively and focus on your football.”

With Europe’s elite circling and Aston Villa determined to protect one of their prized assets, Rogers’ future is shaping up to be one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer.
