Arsenal supporters have been dealt another frustrating blow as Kai Havertz has fallen victim to a fresh muscular injury.

The Germany international has been battling a string of setbacks over the past year and now the Gunners are going to have to do without him just as they’re getting into full swing with a packed schedule looming.

This latest issue has come at a particularly tough time for Mikel Arteta’s side as they’re really pushing hard in the Premier League title race and cup competitions. So here’s the details on Havertz’s injury situation, the games he’s set to miss and what it could mean for Arsenal.

What Happened to Kai Havertz?

Havertz has picked up a muscular injury and sources close to the situation, like The Athletic, are saying it’s bad enough that he’ll be out for a while. We still don’t know the full story of how it happened (training or a match) but it’s not thought to be quite as bad as his previous problems.

The 26-year-old has only just started to get back into the mix after missing most of the first half of the 2025-26 season due to a knee issue. Since coming back, he’s played in Arsenal’s last four games, chipping in with 2 goals and 2 assists along the way.

How Long Will Kai Havertz Be Out?

Arsenal’s medics are keeping their fingers crossed the injury isn’t too serious and that Havertz won’t be out for as long. He’s expected to miss out on a few big games though, possibly for around a month or so, although that could be shorter if he makes a quick recovery.

Which Games Will Kai Havertz Miss?

The injury rules him out of a few really big fixtures – here are some of the ones he’s going to miss:

  • Thursday, 13th of February – away at Brentford in the Premier League
  • Sunday, 16th of February – The FA Cup up at Wigan Athletic
  • Wednesday, 19th of February – Wolves at the Emirates in the Premier League
  • Sunday, 22nd of February – The North London Derby, away at Tottenham Hotspur

So he could miss up to 4 games, including the highly anticipated North London Derby against Spurs. Arsenal are going to have to find a way to cope without him in both league and cup action during this time.

Havertz’s Injury History: A Tough Year for the German Forward

Its not the first time Havertz has found himself held back by injury problems. Before the recent knee issue he had a hamstring tear during a training camp in Dubai back in February 2023 – which needed an operation and meant he missed the best part of the previous season.

Now, the knee issue he hurt his knee in on the opening day of the campaign put him out of action for about 5 months, which made his return to the pitch a much-needed boost for the team. Unfortunately, all these recurring issues have made the 2023-24 season a total nightmare for Havertz so far.

Arsenal’s Growing Injury List: Who Else Is Missing?

Havertz’s absence is just the latest addition to an already looong list of absentees. Arsenal are also missing out on:

  • Mikel Merino (midfielder) after a bit of a botched operation on his foot
  • Martin Ødegaard (captain) – just got back from being injured
  • Bukayo Saka (England star) has been out of action for the past few weeks
  • Max Dowman (young, talented player) who got hurt in the first place

What Does This Mean for Arsenal’s Title Hopes?

Mikel Arteta now is up against it trying to keep the team on track with all these key players missing out.

They have shown good form since Havertz got back in the team, though, but losing him again – especially in a big game like that one for Arsenal against Brentford or the North London Derby – will be a real test of the squad.

The fans will just have to hope for a speedy recovery for Havertz so he can get back to doing what he does best.
