Besiktas Intensify Pursuit of Arsenal Winger Leandro Trossard
Turkish giants Besiktas have stepped up their efforts to sign Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard during the summer transfer window, according to reports from beIN Sports Turkey.
The Black Eagles are actively seeking reinforcements in attack ahead of the 2026/27 season and have identified the Belgian international as one of their priority targets for the left-wing position. Reports indicate that Besiktas chairman Serdal Adali has already made official contact with Arsenal to discuss the possibility of a transfer.
Trossard has been a valuable member of Arsenal’s squad since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 for a reported £21 million. Although he has not always been a regular starter under Mikel Arteta, the versatile attacker has consistently delivered when called upon, featuring across multiple attacking positions.
The 31-year-old enjoyed another productive campaign in the 2025/26 season, registering eight goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. His experience, creativity, and versatility have made him an important asset for the Gunners over the past three-and-a-half years.
Besiktas have reportedly monitored Trossard for nearly a year as they look to strengthen a squad aiming to close the gap on Turkish rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce. Club officials believe the Belgian’s pace, technical ability, and attacking output could provide a significant boost to their ambitions of challenging for domestic honours.
However, securing Trossard’s signature may prove difficult. Besiktas are expected to face competition from several clubs, with Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid, and Newcastle United also linked with the Arsenal winger in recent months.
Furthermore, Arsenal’s stance remains a major obstacle. Recent reports suggest the North London club are not actively looking to sell the experienced attacker, meaning any potential deal would require significant negotiations.
As the summer transfer window unfolds, Besiktas are expected to continue pushing for Trossard, though convincing Arsenal to part ways with the Belgian international could be their toughest challenge yet.
