Inter’s Chivu Hails Arsenal as Europe’s Strongest Ahead of Champions League Tie
Inter Milan Head Coach Cristian Chivu has given Arsenal thumbs up – calling them one of the strongest sides in Europe ahead of that massive Champions League showdown at San Siro
Gritty Serie A Win Sets the Stage
After guiding Inter to a hard fought 1-0 win away at Udinese, which marked their sixth consecutive victory on the road in Serie A, Chivu has been focusing on whats next – the big European challenge.
Lautaro Martinez scored the winning goal, which was a great example of Inter’s growing ability to win tough matches without dominating possession all the time. They ground out the win in the end – and that shows how much they’ve improved.
Inter are showing maturity and being able to adapt
In a chat with Rai Radio 1 (grabbed from FCInterNews), Chivu said that this season Inter have gone from being a team that worries about how to manage matches to a team that just goes out and plays the game with the energy they have.
“We don’t have time to think about managing matches. We have to play our game based on the energy we have. We adapted and showed maturity. Beyond good football, we now know when to roll up our sleeves, defend more and protect a result.”
Chivu was talking about the intense schedule they face in January, with eight matches crammed into just 25 days. That’s a real challenge – but Inter are ready for it. They had a tough first half of the season – but now they’re more mature and more competitive.

With qualification for the knockout stages on the line, Chivu knows that they need to put in a top performance against Arsenal – who looked incredible in the competition.
“If we want to earn points and reach the round of 16, we need a great performance,” Chivu admitted. “Arsenal are the strongest team around, together with Bayern. We respect their level and know they will cause us problems.”
Despite that – Chivu is still feeling pretty confident in Inter’s chances. They’ve done their work, and they’ve got a good mentality about them. “We’re well prepared for this competition. We know our strength. We’ll play with our heads held high and try to win, because that would give us a much better chance of reaching the knockout stage.”
As Inter Milan get ready to take on Arsenal in that massive Champions League tie – Chivu’s comments show that they’re both in for a challenge and feeling pretty optimistic about their chances.

Its going to be a real battle between not just two top teams, but two of the very best in Europe.
