Declan Rice’s Frustration Caught on Camera After Arsenal’s Frustrating 0-0 Draw at Nottingham Forest
Arsenal added a point to their Premier League lead following Man City’s weekend blip, but you wouldn’t know it from looking at the mood of the team overall – as Declan Rice was caught on camera venting his frustration at a scoreless draw to Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal Miss Golden Opportunity to Go Nine Points Clear
The Gunners made their way to the City Ground with one thing on their minds: get the three points and suddenly you’re a staggering nine points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
With Man City getting taken down by Manchester United just a few hours earlier, the stage was set for a massive stroll to the title.
But unfortunately for Arteta’s side, they managed to mess up the chance for the second time in a couple of weeks – that stalemate with Liverpool in January is still fresh in the memories of the Arsenal faithful, and a goalless draw to a quite spirited Nottingham Forest side felt like a huge missed opportunity
Dominant Display Without the Goals
Arsenal completely dominated Nottingham Forest in terms of statistics – they generated an amazing 2.37 xG compared to the lowly 0.33 xG put up by the home side.
Their big chances are beginning to pile up – and what a few of them looked like, too:
- Gabriel Martinelli somehow screwed up a close range chance
- Bukayo Saka managed to get his head on a cross but was kept out by Matz Sels in a huge save
But despite creating ample opportunities – including a possible penalty that was somehow waved off – Arsenal just couldn’t get the breakthrough against a solid Nottingham Forest defense.

Declan Rice’s viral outburst of frustration

As the final whistle blew and Arsenal made their way off the pitch to a mixture of applause and boos from the Gunners faithful, TV cameras caught Declan Rice with his head in his hands and muttering away to himself like he’d lost the last marble
What looked like it was going to be an X-rated input turned out to be more of a surprisingly graphically colourful outburst – with lip readers on social media fairly certain it was “F****** s***, every f****** time.”
This outburst from the England international perfectly sums up just how much the squad are getting tired of throwing points away in games we should be taking home with ease
Still Strong in the Title Race
Despite the result always being a bit of a sour note, there were still some positives to be taken away from a game that could have gone either way:
- They now lead the Premier League by seven points
- The worst they can take from the Villa vs Everton result on Sunday is four points
- Arsenal are still clear favourites to take the title – a title that would make them league champions for the first time since 2004
The Gunners are also significantly better off than they were this time last year – we’re talking about nine points and a much more commanding lead than last season.
So while losing out on what could have been a massive lead is definitely a disappointment, Arsenal’s position at the top of the league is still commanding as they chug along in their quest for a Premier League title.

And that sense of frustration shown by Rice just highlights just how much they want to bring home that lift the trophy.
